The District licenses residential indoor mold assessment through the Department of Energy and Environment, and we do not hold a DOEE license. We do not perform mold assessments in DC — not on-site, and not virtually. What we can do is guidance: read a report you already have, review a remediation scope before you sign it, and help you work out what to ask a licensed assessor for.

Travel and square footage — no surprises
Travel. No travel charge within 25 miles of our Point of Rocks, Maryland headquarters. Beginning November 1, 2026, the same applies within 25 miles of our Elkins, West Virginia field office, and travel is measured from whichever office is closer to you. Beyond that radius, travel is billed at $1.25 per mile round trip for the distance exceeding 25 miles in each direction. A property 58 miles out is 33 billable miles each way — 66 miles round trip — for $82.50. Mileage appears as a separate line on every quote and invoice and is never folded into a base price.
Square footage. Base pricing covers up to 1,500 square feet of conditioned floor area — all heated and cooled space on every level, including a finished basement. Above 1,500, a surcharge of $225 applies for each additional 500 square feet or portion thereof. This figure is usually larger than the one on your tax record, because public assessment records count above-grade area only.
Everything is reviewed and agreed with you in advance, before anything is scheduled. All fees are paid before work begins; we accept Zelle, ACH, certified check payable to WeSpiritus LLC, or domestic wire. To keep our administrative costs low and our service direct to you, credit card payments are not accepted at this time.
