How an infrared roof moisture survey works

Wet materials hold and release the day's heat differently than dry ones. In the hours after sunset, moisture-laden areas of the roof stay warmer and light up on an infrared camera, revealing the hidden extent of a problem a walk-over alone would miss. We map those anomalies across the roof, confirm each with a moisture meter, and mark the wet zones on a roof plan. It's non-invasive and works across common low-slope assemblies — EPDM, TPO, modified bitumen, and built-up roofs.
