A written PRV Service Agreement defines scope, fee, sampling plan, and timing. Visit scheduled for after the remediator's containment is in place — or after their clearance has been called.

On-Site Visit & Sampling (2–4 hours)

Visual walkthrough, moisture-meter mapping, photo documentation, and collection of air, surface, and (when warranted) dust samples. Outdoor comparison samples collected the same day.

Independent Lab Analysis (7–14 business days)

Samples shipped to a properly accredited laboratory. Lab analyzes spore counts, species composition, and any flagged surface or dust samples. Raw data returned to us.

Why can't my remediation company do PRV themselves?

They can — and most do. But that is the exact conflict-of-interest problem PRV exists to solve. A remediator certifying their own work is structurally biased toward declaring it a success. Independent verification by a separate firm with no financial stake removes that bias.

How much does PRV cost?

What happens if PRV finds the remediation FAILED?

The written report documents the findings objectively — what was found, where, and at what levels. You take that report to your remediator, your insurer, your attorney, or your physician. We do not pursue claims for you, but our report is built to be defensible in those settings.

Does insurance cover PRV?

Some policies do, some don't. We can issue an invoice formatted for insurance submission, but we recommend calling your carrier before booking to confirm coverage. AMOLDBUSTER does not bill insurance directly.

What states do you serve for PRV?

On-site PRV: Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. Virtual/remote PRV consultation: 46 states. Texas, Florida, and a few other licensed-only states require a locally-licensed assessor partner — we coordinate when needed.

How soon after remediation should PRV happen?

Ideally, before the containment comes down — that way if PRV fails, the remediator can address it without re-mobilizing. If containment is already down, PRV can still happen but typically requires the area to remain unoccupied with HVAC settings stabilized for at least 24–48 hours before sampling.
